Hi everyone, I’m Jazz. I’ve been creating things in one way or another for as long as I can remember – I studied a Bachelor’s degree in filmmaking, have held exhibitions of my gouache paintings and photography, spent two years writing professionally, wrote and co-hosted a storytelling podcast, and worked as a life drawing model.
In mid-2020, the midst of the pandemic, I was itching for something to do with my hands and, by chance, I came across a behind-the-scenes video of a jeweller shaping rings. My immediate thought was, ‘I could do that,’ and thus began my adventures in silversmithing.
At the same time, I was becoming more connected with paganism and witchcraft, another thing that had been present throughout much of my life, though I had distanced myself from that path during my Christian years (that’s another story for another time).
I immediately felt drawn to entwine those two crafts and this is where so much of my inspiration comes from.
My desire for this blog is to explore both of these passions further, and especially the intersection where magick and metal meet. There’s so much to discover there and I welcome you along for the ride!
